This Privacy Policy outlines how Zapper, owned and operated by Visana Technologies Inc., collects, uses, and protects the personal information of Delivery Partners who provide express delivery services to Shopez merchants. By registering as a Delivery Partner, you agree to the collection and processing of your personal data in accordance with this policy.

When you register as a Zapper Delivery Partner, we collect and process the following information:

Date of Birth
Driver’s License Number (if delivering via motor vehicle)
Social Insurance Number (SIN) (for tax reporting purposes)

Home Address

Make, Model, and Year of Vehicle

3. How We Use Your Information
Zapper uses the collected data for the following purposes:
Registration and Verification: To verify your identity, eligibility, and qualifications as a Delivery Partner.
Delivery Order Matching: To broadcast delivery requests to Delivery Partners within a defined area based on their selected mode of transport (bike, e-scooter, car, truck, etc.).
Service Operation: To facilitate efficient order assignment, optimize delivery routes, and ensure compliance with Zapper's service standards.
Payment Processing: To calculate and process Delivery Partner earnings based on Zapper’s dynamic pricing algorithm, which considers distance, package size and weight, fuel costs, and time of day.
Tax Compliance: To report earnings and issue tax-related documents (such as T4A slips) in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations.
Fraud Prevention and Security: To detect unauthorized access, fraud, and misuse of the platform.
Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, enforce our terms, and respond to legal requests or government inquiries.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. However, Zapper may share your data in the following situations:
With Merchants and Users: Basic profile information (e.g., name, photo, and vehicle type) may be shared with Shopez merchants and users to facilitate deliveries.
With Third-Party Service Providers: We may use third-party providers for payment processing, background verification, and customer support.
With Government and Legal Authorities: If required by law or in cases of suspected fraudulent or illegal activity, we may share your information with law enforcement or regulatory agencies.
For Business Transactions:In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, Zapper may transfer relevant data to the involved parties.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill legal, tax, and operational requirements. The retention periods are:
Account Information:Retained while you are an active Delivery Partner and up to 7 years after account deactivation for compliance purposes.
Payment and Tax Records:Retained for at least 7 years as required by CRA regulations.
Delivery History and Ratings:Retained for business analytics and fraud prevention.
6. Data Security
Zapper employs industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These include:
Encryption of Sensitive Data (such as banking information and SIN numbers).
Secure Cloud Storage with controlled access.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for account security.

As a Zapper Delivery Partner, you have the following rights:
Access Your Data: Request a copy of your personal information.
Update Your Information:Modify incorrect or outdated details.
Delete Your Account: Request account deletion, subject to data retention policies.
Withdraw Consent: Opt-out of marketing communications or GPS tracking (note: disabling GPS may impact service functionality).
8. Responsibilities of Delivery Partners
Compliance with Laws: You must operate within the legal framework, including traffic and transportation laws.
Honest Reporting: Providing false information may result in suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
Timely Deliveries: Deliveries must be completed promptly once accepted.
Handling Customer Complaints: Delivery Partners are expected to maintain professional conduct and resolve minor disputes amicably.
9. Package Theft and Loss Liability
If a package is stolen from the drop-off location after a successful delivery, Zapper is not responsible for the loss.
Merchants must clarify their policies regarding lost or stolen packages.
Users are encouraged to provide secure delivery locations.
Merchants may request proof of delivery via Signature, OTP, or Drop-off Image.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Zapper reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy periodically. Delivery Partners will be notified of significant changes through the Zapper app or email. Continued use of the platform after updates signifies acceptance of the revised terms.
